  • Beacon understands that without privacy, it’s impossible to feel safe enough to reach the healthier, most focused version of yourself. We prioritize protecting your information and adhering to all relevant information privacy and security practice laws and regulations. At Beacon, your entries and personal information, like your name, are protected and confidential, and the availability and integrity of sensitive information like your email are protected by administrative, physical, and technical safeguards. Additional questions about our privacy or security practices can be directed to help@beacon.com.

  • Beacon offers four types of guided meditation:
guided focus, guided insight, resting awareness, and visualization. The main differences between these four is what you are centered on through-
out your time meditating. Focus meditations primarily encourage an awareness of your breath. Insight meditations, like noting or body scanning, return attention to your bodily sensations or acknowledge your thoughts without judgment. Resting awareness is exactly what it sounds like: at a resting position, be present without judgement on yourself, allowing thoughts, feelings, and sensations to come and go. Visualization invites you to replace the sensation of your breath
with a mental image. At Beacon, we use loving kindness and skillful compassion visualizations to direct goodwill from ourselves to others. The 5th option is to engage in unguided practice– this just means that, instead of having a voice guiding you through the meditation period, you act as your own guide. Don’t be intimidated! Unguided meditation is a great tool to expand your practice and experience deeper connections with your thoughts and feelings.
